The Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

Attending the ballon fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico has been three years in the making for me.

The largest of its kind, in North America with over 500 hot air balloons is a must see!

What a Dream!

Every year for nine days in October, the skies of New Mexico are filled with vibrant balloons.

As a verse traveler, I knew all I needed was a few hours in New Mexico to experience the fiesta.

There is a set schedule for all events surrounding the fiesta so that you are able to plan accordingly for your trip.

I stayed overnight in a hotel and attended the festivities during the week, which there are only morning balloon launches planned.

I arrived around five in the morning and would suggest everyone to bundle up but also dress comfortably.

Uber and Lyft are not as reliable due to the extreme wait times for drop off and pick up. Renting a car or driver is best. I hired a driver which was convenient and easy since the hotel had a company on site.

Up, Up And Away!

It was truly something magical to witness! Balloons from all over took flight, another after the other and went on for hours.

Some video and photos just do not articulate how wonderful this is to experience first hand!

This may not have been on your bucket list but it is definitely an experience that is checked off of mine!
