Visiting 1 of The 7 World Wonders: Chichen Itza
For my 25th birthday, I wanted to check a huge milestone off my bucket list. “Covid willing!”
Of course, there was a list complied of all the trails to hike and the beaches I could leave my footprints upon.
After much deliberation, I knew visiting the Chichen Itza located in Yucatan, Mexico was the way to go!
There are many ways to get to Chichen Itza but we decided it was best to booked a tour from Cancun.
Clear your schedule because getting to this beauty will become an all day event.
Our entire day was filled with many excursions such as, trying traditional Maya food and visiting the beautiful town of Valladoid, Mexico.
We were giving two hours to explore with a tour guide, that educated us on the rich history of the Maya civilization.
There are fantastic souvenirs and hand crafted sculptures for sale while you are there.
It is extremely hot!!!
Please wear comfortable shoes, lots of sunscreen and bug spray. Sunglasses and a hat aren’t mandatory but I highly recommend.
Water intake is also very important, something I personally did not take into account.
Our tickets were covered along with the tour we booked but if you would love to explore Chichen Itza for yourself the entrance fee is 26 usd.
Stepping into chapter 25 with my bucket list continuing to shrink but also grow as I travel this amazing world.
I am grateful for every experience but also the people I have been able to connect with along the way.
I turned 25 on Mother’s Day without my mom. I ensure this life I live will be with purpose, passion and happiness. Leaving my stamped on this planet just as she did!!!
