Sunsets South of The Border

First adventure in Mexico was visiting Playa Del Carmen which is about 40 minutes out from Cancun.

The moment I arrived in Playa Del Carmen, I was blow away by the culture and history of the island.
This day trip wasn’t on the itinerary but is now a must, when giving others advice.

With its rich history, this beautiful city showcased traditional music, dance and food.
Dance of the flyers or ’Danza de los Voladores,’ is a ritual dance birth in central Mexico, where five men tie themselves to a rope and descend to the ground.

The performance was the highlight of this day trip for me.
While overlooking the ocean, these men dove to the ground in a circular motion as one stood at the top and played the flute.

Once the sun began to set that was just the icing on the cake!
A beautiful way to end a day of exploring and learning new culture through someone else’s lenses.
