State Fair of Texas
My most recent adventure to the State Fair of Texas, was spontaneous and last minute.
Apparently, the fair in Texas is one of the largest in America.
There’s a Turkey leg or some outrageous fried food at every stand.
It was 90 degrees out, and with plenty of refreshing treats to keep cool such as Jell-O shots for those 21 and older.
I’ve heard all about the crazy fried food at the fair, but I wasn’t prepared to witness an entire stick of butter being deep fried and someone actually enjoying it.
I decided to keep it simple and try a frito pie, sausage stick, fried Reese’s and top it all off with cotton candy.
Of course I couldn’t come to the State Fair of Texas and not find Big Tex.
He’s an old time favorite and a must when visiting.
The statue is extremely tall and a sight to see!
As a first timer I wouldn’t say there’s something drastically different about the State Fair of Texas besides how larger everything is.
Some of the same rides and food that can be found at any fair or carnival.
I will definitely be back for Big Tex and another massive turkey leg.
