Trying to find the Pot of Gold at the end of Rainbow Row

Trying to find the Pot of Gold at the end of Rainbow Row

My first time in Charleston, South Carolina and of course I thought to myself, what cool things could I get into while on my layover?

Which led me to to a google search of Charleston for food, culture and sightseeing adventures.

My first stop was to find something good to eat with even better drinks.

Due to COVID-19 many restaurants aren’t open for dine-in. I happened to stumble upon Mellow Mushroom. The cool name and ambience pulled me right in.

This place had it all! The service was amazing, the pizza was flavorful with a hint of heat and each menu item had a comical spin of goodness to its name.

Let’s not forget, they won my heart once Rugrats began to play on the television.

The next day, I decided to forget about the cloudy weather and hop in an Uber to experience this “Rainbow Row.”

This street is located in the heart of Charleston and each house is painted a different pastel or bright color.

There are many rumors as to why the homes are painting various colors but none are proven to be true.

On a hot humid day, these homes tend to be a prime location for tourists such as myself.

Photos on Instagram and Wikipedia makes this place look very whimsical. Overall I would say Rainbow Row isn’t an attraction to plan your day around.

Very beautiful and busy place to take photos but definitely not an all day activity.

Take your shots, enjoy the walk and get out to explore the wonders that Charleston has to offer!
